Warranty FAQs

How long is the Guarantee?

Our warranty on the fitting is for 'Life' which means as long as you own the vehicle, opening windows and their mechanisms are guaranteed for a period of 12 months. Again, be wary of anyone who is not a qualified Automotive Glazier, if there is a problem and the window needs to be removed, it's doubtful that they will have the skills or tools to do this without damage, we have always been trained to fit windows in such a way that it would be easy to remove them if necessary.

Common scenario in the event of a leak for example...

Buying cheap from an online supplier         Supplied and fitted by us.

If fitted by you, remove the window                Give us a call and we remove and replace

Secure the hole in your van whilst you wait    We arrange remove & refit at the same time

If you paid a fitter, pay again to remove it      No additional payment required

Order (and pay?) for a replacement               We obtain a replacement and supply foc

Pay to install it or fit yourself                          Sit back and watch us remove and/or replace

Try to find a way to return faulty window       We return the faulty window for credit

Common obstacles...

  1. Arguing who is responsible, you (if self fitted), your windscreen fitter or the supplier
  2. Getting the window out without damaging it, windscreen fitters will have tools and the training like us to remove the window but even professionals struggle with cutting sliding windows out without damaging the fragile drain tubes in the glue behind the glass, if it gets damaged your supplier is unlikely to offer a refund
  3. The supplier will almost certainly want paying again for the replacement, usually offering a credit on it's safe return, and here is where it gets tricky
  4. You will need to repack the window safely and the 'risk' will be with you as the 'sender' if it gets broken, unless your supplier offers to collect the faulty window (free or at your cost) you will have to find a way of getting it to them, your local village Post Office isn't going to want to know and you will usually need an account with a Courier to use their services.
  5. Paying at every stage and hoping for a refund, removal, refitting, postage etc
  6. Hoping it doesn't leak again and you have to start over, how likely is your supplier likely to pay a second time, even if it's an inherent fault with the window
